First edition of this Merrill ABC book in linenette, wonderfully illustrated by one of Merrill's most talented mid-century children's illustrators, Florence Salter. Known for her unmistakable mid-century aesthetic and her Gerber Baby-esque faces, illustrator Florence Salter was unquestionably one of the best house illustrators at children's publisher Merrill. This bright and eye-catching ABC incorporates both children at play and personified animals to carry children from Aa Animals to Zz Zipper. Faint blue dampstain to first few leaves (not particularly noticeable due to bright coloration of illustrations), light rubbing to extremities. Extremely good condition.
