Institute of Jewish Affairs. Starvation Over Europe (Made in Germany). A Documented Record 1943. New York: Institute of Jewish Affairs, 1943.

Octavo. Paper Wrappers. 1st Edition.

First edition of this meticulous study of the state of nutrition and food distribution--particularly along racial lines--in Germany, Europe, and to the Jews of Europe. Starvation Over Europe (Made in Germany) tracks details of food distribution (including in terms of individual food items) in Europe in 1943, from the food-hoarding of the Nazis to the intentional deprivation inflicted on non-Germans to the systematic and murderous starvation of the Jews. The work clearly shows how the starvation program waged at the Jews was intended to prevent an unsanitary mass-death while still eventually killing all Jews who failed to die from other causes. The authors catalog harrowing death rates including 3000 Jewish children under 14 who perished in Salonika and the 47,428 Jews who died in the Warsaw Ghetto in 1941. A near-fine or better copy with only a couple faint crease to wrappers and interior generally fine.
